Removal of mold contaminated materials

This particular Las Vegas home owner noticed a weird discoloration on their baseboard. SERVPRO of Centennial Hills was dispatched to assess what was causing the discoloration of the baseboards and noticed a water leak stemming from a toilet wax seal.

Due to the nature of the leak coming from the waste side of the plumbing, SERVPRO needed to remove materials because of the potential health hazards that could cause from being exposed.

The first photo shows a pre demolition of how things can look almost normal and the second photo shows what needs to happen in order to remediate mold and mitigate wet materials.

Once the drywall is removed the studs are Hepa Vacuumed and then treated with anti microbial. After letting the treatment dwell then sanding of studs commences to remove mold and water staining. The second photo shows the final step of  placing air movers to speed up the drying process.
